[M 007 / Roman Chartres] was built during the first century BC. We know very little about the town at that time, but it is recorded as having an amphitheater and two aqueducts, which suggest that it was a reasonably large and important Roman town.
There is no record of what happened to the indigenous people in the Chartres area, but we can assume that these Celtic tribes were conquered by the Romans and gradually absorbed into the Roman Empire.
